Computers continue to change size and shape around the many uses they fulfill. Every other week a new device or upgrade to an old one is developed. Often this seems to be driven by the interest of consumers but sometimes it seems to be driven by what the internet can provide. It seems that any device created today needs to somehow connect, if it doesn’t there is less and less use to the market. Any way you look at it, an electronic device has to have some method to connect to the internet, making the internet capability the main driving force in the development of much of the electronics market.

Whether it is Ipads from which you can read ebooks, or cell phones equipped with 4G wireless internet, the industry is moving directly and intently toward connectivity. Video games like Sony XBOX or the Wii or Blue Ray DVD players all connect to the internet now. Connecting to the internet seems to give all these gadgets a more full life. The ability to connect with the world allows all these devices to entertain the user to a greater more variable degree. It was once that playing video games was something one or two people would do in a kids bedroom or if you were lucky, at the video arcade where you would play against the computer program. Now playing video games is as interactive as playing a game of basketball with friends on the court. The action is not the same every time, there is always some new interaction.

As we make our way toward the future there seems to be little limit to what is possible when we find more ways to connect people, through the internet. In the future the way we connect to the internet will continue to change. Amazing, many of us connect without cables, where ever we find ourselves at any given moment.
