Dell Streak

The market is filled with loads of Mobile Internet Devices, Handhelds, Smartphones, tablets and what not making the competition stiffer between the manufacturers and leaving a wide range of devices to choose from for the consumers. The Apple’s Ipad is one of the most sought after tablet and it has also been chosen as one of the top 50 inventions of 2010 and also been called as the top gadget of the year by the Time magazine and Popular Science respectively. But there is one more device manufactured by Dell which is giving Ipad a stiff competition. The device was known as Dell Mini 5, which is now better known as Dell Streak.

Dell Streak is a Smartphone or a tablet PC which runs on Android operating system. Dell Streak features a 5 inch capacitive touch screen and has a 5 MP camera with flash at the back and a VGA camera in the front. The screen size of Dell Streak makes it better than the Iphone by Apple when it comes to browsing, watching videos, or playing games on the handheld and it comes with a capacitive touch screen for input. The original Dell Mini 5 came with an Android 1.6 OS and now the Streak is offered with an Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. The device comes with an Fm radio chip in its hardware, but it does not figure up in the official features list. The Fm radio can be made accessible to the user by making few modifications in the OS. The new 7 inch version of Dell Streak is slated to be released sometime soon this year.

Dell Streak scores over Ipad in terms of the size. Dell streak is sized bigger than a 3.5 inch smart phone but unlike Ipad it is small enough to be carried around comfortably whereas Ipad is more like a advanced version of e-book reader with a 10 inch screen.
